Potato Kurma Recipe

Super easy and delicious potato kurma which is nearly restaurant style. This not only taste amazing but is super quick to make.

Ingredients

  • Oil - 3 tblsp
  • Onion - 2 large chopped finely
  • Tomato - 3 chopped finely
  • Potato - 2 large peeled and cubed
  • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tblsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

FOR GRINDING:

  • Coconut - ½ cup
  • Roasted Gram Dal / Pori Kadalai - 2 tblsp
  • Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf - 1 tsp
  • Melon Seeds - 1 tblsp

Instructions

  • Grind ingredients given for grinding to a smooth paste
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add onions and saute for 2 mins.
  • Add tomatoes and cook till mushy.
  • Add potatoes and mix well.
  • Add in spice powders and salt.
  • Add in coconut masala. Mix well.
  • Add water and mix well.
  • Cover and pressure cook for 3 whistle. Open the lid and mix well.
  • Serve.
