Cheese Samosa, crispy samosa filled with cheese takes less than 10 minutes to make. Everyone loves a crispy samosa, specially when it is filled with cheese and who can say no to it, like cheese chilli toast & cheese spring rolls. Cheese samosa is made with cheese, herbs, onions, spices and fresh coriander leaves which is stuffed inside samosa patti and fried. You can customise this recipe to your liking and it is freezer friendly as well which is perfect for Ramadan. Learn how to make crispy cheese samosa with step by step pictures and video.
Mix cheese with the ingredients given for the filling in a bowl. Set aside.
Take samosa patti and spoon some filling in the top corner. Fold it in triangles and keep doing this till it come to the end. Mix flour with water to form a paste. Use this paste to seal the edges.
Deep fry in hot oil till golden and crispy. Strain on some paper towel and set aside.
Notes
You can add corn, spinach, jalapenos, onions to your cheese filling. Cheese filling doesn't need to be cooked.
You can make the samosa, fry them immediately or place them in a container and put them in fridge or freezer.
For sealing the samosa and spring rolls, I am using a simple paste made with plain flour and some water. Optionally you can use beaten egg, cornstarch mixed with some water.
Instead of frying samosa you can bake or air fry them.
How to Bake Samosa
Once samosa is folded. Place them on an oiled baking tray, brush the top of the samosa with more oil using a pastry brush. Bake samosa in 200 degree C preheated oven for 10 minutes, flip them over and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. You can brush them top with some ghee before serving.
How to Air Fry Samosa
Once samosa is folded. Place them on an greased air fryer basket. brush the top of the samosa with more oil using a pastry brush. Bake samosa in 180 degree C for 10 minutes, flip them over and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. You can brush them top with some ghee before serving.
How to Freeze Samosa
Freezing in ziploc - Once samosa is folded. Place them in a parchment lined baking sheet and put them in freezer for 3 hours. Once it is frozen, you can collect them and place them in a ziploc bag and store in freezer. Freezing in Freezer safe container - Line a freezer safe container with parchment paper. Place the samosa in a single layer. Place another sheet of parchment on top of the samosa and place another layer of samosa. Repeat this step until the box is full. Store in freezer. Samosa can be frozen for 2 to 3 months.
