Coconut Burfi Recipe | How to Make Coconut Barfi | Nariyal Barfi

Coconut Burfi is a delicious south indian sweet made with coconut, sugar and ghee flavored with cardamom and cloves. This nariyal barfi is easy to make and keeps well for 4 to 5 days.

  • 2 cups Fresh Coconut grated (packed)
  • 11/2 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 3 no Cardamom powdered
  • 2 no Cloves powdered


  • Take coconut and milk in a blender and make into a slightly coarse puree.
  • Add this to a non stick or a heavy bottom pan. Add in sugar to this and keep stiring.
  • Keep cooking and mixing this till it starts to thicken and leaves the sides of the pan, it will take around 15 mins.
  • Add in ghee, cardamom powder and cloves powder and mix well.
  • Keep this mixing. It will start to leave the sides of the pan and foam around the edges.
  • At this point. Pour this into a greased plate and allow it to cool down.
  • Once cooled, cut into squares.
  • Serve.



This barfi can be stored in room temperature for up to 5 days. You can store this more than a week in the fridge.
