Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp Gingelly Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds / Vendayam / Methi
  • 1 sprig Curry leaves
  • 20 cloves Garlic peeled
  • 1 small Tamarind gooseberry size
  • 2 tbsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 4 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Jaggery
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  • Soak tamarind in water for 10 mins. squeeze and extract all the juice and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard, fenugreek and curry leaves. Mix well.
  • Add in garlic and fry for couple of mins.
  • Add in tamarind water, all spice powders, salt and jaggery and mix well. Bring it to a boil. Simmer for 10 to 15 mins.
  • Now serve with rice.
