Plain Chinese Gravy with step by step pictures. Simple gravy made chinese style with onions, ginger, garlic and chinese sauces. This gravy can be used to make manchurian or as it is.

Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 tblspn
  • Ginger - 1 tblspn finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 tblspn finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
  • Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
  • Tomato Ketchup - ¼ cup
  • Green Chilli Sauce - 2 tblspn
  • Red Chilli Sauce - 2 tblspn
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tsp
  • Vinegar - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chicken Stock or Veg Stock - 2 cups
  • Cornflour - 2 tsp
  • Spring Onion as needed finely chopped

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a kadai, add in ginger and garlic and saute for a min.
  • Add in onions, green chillies, and cook till golden.
  • Now add in all the sauces, salt, sugar and pepper powder and mix well.
  • Add in chicken stock and mix well. Bring it to a boil.
  • Now add in cornflour which is mixed with water and mix well. Cook this for 2 to 3 mins till it thickens.
  • Add in spring onion and serve with fried rice or noodles.
