Shakarpara Recipe (Shankarpali)

Shakarpara recipe with step by step pictures. This recipe is also known as fried maida biscuits and it is a simple snack prepared with maida flour.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour / Maida
  • ¼ cup Milk
  • 3 tbsp Ghee or Butter or Oil
  • cup Sugar
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda / Cooking Soda
  • Salt a pinch
  • Oil for Deep frying

Instructions

  • Take milk, ghee and sugar in a sauce pan and heat it on low heat. Mix till sugar is melted. Now turn off the heat and set aside till it gets warm.
  • Take flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  • Add in the milk mix and knead to a soft dough. Set aside for 10 mins.
  • Now take the dough and roll it into little thick circle. Now cut small diamonds using a pizza cutter or a somas spoon.
  • Now heat oil for deep frying, drop the diamonds in and fry on a medium heat till golden.
  • Drain and let it cool down.
  • Now store this in a air tight container. Stays good for more than 2 weeks.
