Ingredients

Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu - 1 cup
▢
Salt to taste
▢
Fresh Coconut - ½ cup grated
▢
Oil - 1 tsp
▢
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
▢
Urad dal - 1 tsp
▢
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
▢
Curry leaves a sprig
▢
Ginger - 1 tsp choppedfinely
▢
Green Chilli - 1 finely chopped
▢
Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
Instructions

Method:
▢
Wash and soak chana dal for 4 hours.
▢
Drain and take them in a sauce pan, cover with water and cook for 5 mins till it is cooked completely.
▢
Drain and set aside.
▢
Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard, urad dal and let them sizzle.
▢
Add in asafoetida and mix well
▢
.Add in ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and let them sizzle.
▢
Add in turmeric powder and mix well.
▢
Add chana dal, salt and coconut and toss well.
▢
Serve.
