  • Wheat Flour / Atta -2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil-1 tsp
  • Water as required


  • In a mixing bowl add wheat flour, salt, oil and mix well.
  • Add in water and make a smooth dough.Apply a tsp of oil and knead it for 2-3 min.
  • Cover it let it rest for 20-30 min.Divide the dough into equal portions.
  • Roll each balls into roti.
  • Heat a tawa to a high heat..Put the roti on the tawa and cook on one side till the top appears dry to touch and not doughy.
  • Turn it over and cook on other side for some more seconds.
  • Now put the upper side of the cooking chapati over direct flame, the roti will puff up like a ballon.Turn it on the other side and toast it on burning flame till done.
  • Remove this and place it in insulated container.
  • Serve hot drizzling some butter or ghee on top with any curry.
