Ingredients

  • ½ cup Whole Urad Dal
  • ½ cup Raw Rice / Pacharisi
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tbsp + for deep frying Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 medium size chopped finely Onion
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 2 tsp Ginger chopped finely
  • a spring Curry leaves

Instructions

  • Soak Whole urad dal and rice in a bowl, soak it for 2 hours.
  • Drain it and take it in a blender, make it into a fine puree. Pour this into a bowl, add in salt and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard and crackle.
  • Add in onions, chillies, curry leaves, ginger and saute for a min.
  • Pour this into the batter and mix well.
  • Heat oil for deep frying. Drop spoonful of batter in hot oil and fry till golden.
  • Drain and serve with chutney.
