1Tomato-1 large chopped

3Green chillichopped
1tspCumin seeds / Jeerakam
½tspFenugreek seeds / Vendayam
1sprigCurry leaves
1tbspOil-1 tbsp
Sugar to taste
Salt to taste
Lemon juice to taste
Coriander leaves / Cilantro for garnishing
Instructions
Wash dal in lots of water and soak it for 30 mins. Take that in pressure cooker and add 3 cups of water..Cook for 2 whistles and simmer for 10 mins. Let the pressure go all by itself. Set aside for a moment.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds.
Add in Ginger and Garlic. Fry this for 1 min.
Add in green chilli and curry leaves. fry for 1 min.
Now add in onions and hing and cook till for 5 mins.
Throw in the tomato and mix well. Cook for 3 mins or until the tomatoes turn mushy.
Pour in dal and mix well. Add in required amount of water. Bring this to boil and simmer for 5 mins.
Season with salt and sugar and mix well.Squeeze in some lemon juice.
Garnish with cilantro.Serve hot with rice and any subzi.
