Ingredients

  • 3 cups Bottle Gourd peeled and chopped
  • ¾ cup Yellow Split Moong Dal
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 3 Shallots / Sambar Onion
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cup Water
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tblspn Oil
  • 1 tblspn Ghee
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 small chopped finely Onion
  • 2 cloves chopped finely Garlic

Instructions

  • Take bottlegourd, and all the ingredients mentioned in a pot, cover with water, Bring it to a boil, simmer the pot and cook on a low heat till dal is cooked. It will take around 15 mins.
  • Now add in salt and mix well.
  • Now make seasoning by heating oil, add in cumin and let it sizzle. Add in onions, garlic and chillies. Saute till golden,
  • Pour this over the dal and mix well.
  • Serve
