Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • Curry leaves a sprig
  • 1 medium size chopped finely Onion
  • 2 to 3 chopped finely Green Chillies
  • 1 peeled and cubed Ridge Gourd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1.5 cup to 2 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  • Dry roast sesame seeds and powder them in a blender.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard, cumin, urad dal, curry leaves and let them sizzle.
  • Add in onions, chillies and saute well. Add salt and turmeric and mix well.
  • Now add in ridge gourd and mix well. Cover and simmer the flame and cook for 8 to 10 mins till it is cooked.
  • Now add in sesame seed powder and mix well.
  • Add in milk and mix well.
  • Simmer for few mins till it comes to a boil.
  • Serve.
