Ingredients

  • 1 peeled and cubed Sweet Potato / Cheeni Kizhangu
  • 1 peeled and cubed Yam Ordinary / Karunai Kizhangu
  • 1 peeled and cubed Raw Banana / Vazhakkai
  • 1 cup chopped Snake Gourd / Pudalangai
  • 1 cup peeled and cubed White Pumpkin / Ash Gourd
  • 2 cups peeled and cubed Pumpkin / Poosanikai
  • 1 peeled and cubed Potato
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ cup Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu
  • For Masala:
  • 1 cup grated Fresh Coconut
  • 4 to 6 Dry Red Chillies
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 tbsp Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
  • Water as needed
  • For Seasoning:
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • 1 tsp Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu
  • Curry leaves a handful

Instructions

  • Take moong dal in a pan, cover with water and cook till done.
  • Take grinding ingredients in a blender, add water little by little and make it into a smooth paste.
  • Prepare veggies and wash them well. Now take them in a pot and add in salt, turmeric powder and water. Mix well. Bring it to a boil and cover and simmer the flame and cook for 15 to 20 mins till veggies are done.
  • Once the veggies are done, add dal and coconut masala nd mix well. Simmer for a further 5 mins.
  • Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling the spices, pour this in to the curry and mix well.
  • Serve with rice.
