Apple Jam Recipe | How to Make Apple Jam with No Pectin

Ingredients

  • 5 large Apples 5 cups when chopped
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Instructions

  • Wash, peel and chop apples. Take them in a microwave safe bowl, cover them and cook for 10 mins. You can cook in stove top too, take apples in a saucepan, add ½ cup of water, bring everything to a boil. Cover with a lid and simmer till the apples are completely cooked through.
  • Now use a masher to mash the cooked apples. you can mash it completely or leave it chunky.
  • Add sugar and mix well.
  • Now transfer this entire thing to a kadai and cook on a medium heat. Cook till it gets thick and leaves the sides of the kadai. It will take around 15 to 20 mins.
  • Switch off the flame and add some lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Transfer this to a container and let it cool.
  • Store in an air tight container.

Notes

  • Use clean, dry, air tight bottle to store this jam.
  • Always use clean spoon while handling this.
  • This keeps well for a week when stored in clean, dry shelf. If you want to store for longer period of time, store this in fridge. I recommend you to store in fridge always.
