Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 cup Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ¼ tsp Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
  • Oil for Deep frying + 1 tsp

Instructions

  • Heat water in a sauce pan, and bring it to a boil.
  • Take it off the heat and add in salt and rice flour. Mix well so it comes together. If it is sticky add more rice flour and mix well.
  • Now remove the dough to a bowl and let it cool a bit. Knead it to a soft dough.
  • Add in chilli powder, sesame seeds and asafoetida. Mix well.
  • Now heat a tsp of oil till it is smoky, pour that over the dough and mix well.
  • Divide the dough into equal small balls.
  • Take a ball and roll it thinly, bring both the sides together and pinch them up.
  • Heat oil for deep frying.
  • Drop in the rings and fry till golden and the shh sound subsides in the oil.
  • Drain it and let it cool completely.
  • Store it in a air tight container and enjoy..
