Ingredients

  • Fish Steaks – 300 gms I used Parai meen/ Trevally
  • Onion – 1 large finely chopped
  • Tomato- 2 medium finely chopped
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
  • Coconut Milk – 200 ml
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
  • Cinnamon/ Pattai – 1 small piece
  • Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder / Manjal podi -1 tsp
  • Cumin powder / Jeera podi -1 tsp
  • Coriander powder / Malli podi -1 tblspn
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 1 tblspn

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cinnamon and saute that for 30 seconds.
  • Add onions and cook till golden brown. Add in ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add in all the spice powders and salt and mix well. Saute that for 30 sec.
  • Add in tomatoes and saute them for a min.Add some water and mix well. Cook the water out and saute them till they turn mushy.
  • Add in coconut milk and bring the mixture to a boil.Add more water if needed.
  • Add in the fish fillets and cook it for 8-10 mins untill the fish is cooked.
  • Serve with rice.
