Fish Steaks – 300 gms
I used Parai meen/ Trevally
Onion – 1 large finely chopped
Tomato- 2 medium finely chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Coconut Milk – 200 ml
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Cinnamon/ Pattai – 1 small piece
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi -1 tsp
Cumin powder / Jeera podi -1 tsp
Coriander powder / Malli podi -1 tblspn
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tblspn
Instructions
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and cinnamon and saute that for 30 seconds.
Add onions and cook till golden brown. Add in ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Add in all the spice powders and salt and mix well. Saute that for 30 sec.
Add in tomatoes and saute them for a min.Add some water and mix well. Cook the water out and saute them till they turn mushy.
Add in coconut milk and bring the mixture to a boil.Add more water if needed.
Add in the fish fillets and cook it for 8-10 mins untill the fish is cooked.
Serve with rice.
