Banana sugar kolukattai is a sweet banana flavoured rice flour dumplings. This has a mild cardamom flour and taste delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • Sugar - ½ cup
  • Water - ¾ cup
  • Store bought idiyappam flour - 1 cup
  • Ripe Banana - 1 mashed
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
  • Ghee as needed

Instructions
 

  • Take sugar, water in a kadai. Bring it to a boil.
  • Add in ripe mashed banana, cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Add in rice flour and mix well. Cook till the dough comes together.
  • Cool this down.
  • Take small portion of dough and shape it into a ball.
  • Place it in a steamer plate and steam for 10 mins.
  • Serve.

Notes

1)I used store bought rice flour. You can use homemade too.
2)Use ripe banana for maximum banana aroma.
3)I used sugar for this kolukattai to keep the kolukattai white colour.
4)Instead of white sugar you can use brown sugar as well.
