Notes
Use high quality black peppercorns. peppercorns that are fresh, aromatic, and free from any signs of moisture or mold. Whole black peppercorns will provide the best flavor when ground.
Peppercorns have a stronger flavor when they are freshly ground. So I like to make my pepper powder in small batches and use it ASAP.
Dry-roasting the peppercorns in a pan over low heat for a few minutes can enhance their flavor and aroma. Just be careful not to burn them, as it can result in a bitter taste.
To preserve the flavor and aroma of the black pepper powder, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. This will help maintain its quality for a longer period.
