Tomato Relish Recipe | Instant Relish Recipe

Tomato Relish with Step by Step Pictures. This is a quick condiment you can make under 15 mins. You can make this during the weekend and keep handy in the fridge and use it through out the week. You can have it with sandwiches, grilled chicken, fish or eggs. Even have it with roti, naan as well.

  • Olive Oil - 1 tblspn
  • Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf - 1 tsp
  • Ginger - 1 tblspn finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 tblspn finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
  • Green chillies - 1 chopped finely
  • Tomatoes - 3 to 4 chopped or use 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1.5 tblspn
  • Red Chilli Flakes - 2 tsp or to taste
  • Coriander leaves / Parsley - 4 tblspn finely chopped


  • Heat oil in a pan, add in fennel seeds and let it sizzle.
  • Add in ginger and garlic and fry for a min. Add in onions, green chillies and saute for couple of mins.
  • Add in tomatoes and cook that down till it thickens.
  • Now add in salt, sugar and chilli flakes and mix well. Cook till it thickens.
  • Add in coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve.
  • You can store this in a clean jar in fridge for upto a week.
