Sulaimani Tea Recipe, a popular Kerala no milk tea brewed with whole spices, Indian tea powder with a touch of lemon juice. This tea originated in Arab country which later travelled to Kerala through traders. Sulaimani tea is known for its clean, refreshing taste.
2noBlack Tea Bagsor use 2 teaspoon Black Tea Powder
2teaspoonJaggery or Brown Sugarto taste
2teaspoonLemon Juice to taste
Whole Spices
1stickCinnamon sticks
4noCardamom pods
1noStar anise
2noCloves
Instructions
Take whole spices in a mortar and pestle and crush them slightly. Set aside.
Take water in a sauce pan. Bring it to a full boil. Add ginger and all the whole spices into the water.
I used black tea bags so i added it into the water. You can use black tea powder or tea leaves too.
Now add in your sweeteners of choice. I am using brown sugar. Let this brew for couple of minutes. You can brew how strong you like your tea. The more it boils, the more strong it gets.
Once the tea is brewed. Take it off the heat and add lemon juice or lime to taste. Give a good mix, taste and adjust sugar and lemon juice to your taste preference.
Strain this tea using a fine mesh strainer to remove any whole spices. Pour into individual serving glasses and Serve hot.
