Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Rice
  • 3 tablespoon Urad Dal
  • ¼ teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Fresh Coconut grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Whole Pepper crushed

Instructions
 

  • Take rice in a bowl, take urad dal and fenugreek seeds in a bowl and wash well. Now soak this separately for 1 hour.
  • First take dal and fenugreek seeds in a mixer and add little water at a time and make it into a very smooth paste. Dont add too much water.
  • Now add drained rice in the dal and grind it till the rice is blender The rice wont be ground into a smooth paste. Little grainy is not a issue.
  • Now take this mix in a bowl, add in 1 cup of fresh coconut and mix well.
  • Now take some coconut in a plate, wet your hands in water, take small [portion of this batter and coat it in coconut and place it in a steamer plate or idli plate.
  • Now steam this for 15 mins. Remove it and serve hot.
  • You can add some crushed cumin seeds and pepper to the batter and mix well and  make dumplings for little spicy version.

Notes

  • Don't add too much water when grinding, if you find the batter to be thin, then add some rice flour to get the consistency right.
  • Add a good amount of fresh coconut in this, if you are making this for older people then reduce the coconut amount.
  • You can add some crushed cumin seeds and pepper to the batter and mix well and  make dumplings for little spicy version.
