Ingredients

  • 3 cups shredded Cabbage
  • 1 large grated Carrot
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
  • a pinch Asafoetida / Kaya Podi / Hing
  • 1 chopped finely Green Chilli
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder / Malli podi
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, cumin, asafoetida and let it sizzle.
  • Add in green chillies and mix well.
  • Now add in cabbage and carrots and saute well. Cook for 5 to 7 mins.
  • Add in chilli, coriander and turmeric powder and mix well.
  • Then add in salt and sugar and toss well.
  • Add in lemon juice and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  • Serve.
