Ingredients

  • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 ¼ cup / 150 gms
  • Sugar – ¾ cup / 150 gms
  • Butter - 120 gms / 4 ounces / ¼ pound
  • Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp
  • Cocoa powder- ⅓ cup / 35 gms
  • Curd / Yogurt – ¾ cup - 2 tblspn / 5 fluid ounces / 150 ml
  • Milk - ¼ cup / 60 ml / 2 fluid ounces
  • Baking Powder – ¾ tsp
  • Fruit Jam- 1 ½ tblspn
  • Cashews - ½ cup chopped / 75 gms any nut as you wish
  • Chocolate Chips – ½ cup / 75 gms Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C / 380°F. Butter a square baking pan and dust it with flour, Coat all sides with flour and tap away the excess. Sieve flour, cocoa and baking powder together. Set this aside.
  • In a mixing bowl take butter, sugar and vanilla and beat them till fluffy.
  • Add milk, curd, jam and mix well. Add in the flour- cocoa mixture and mix well.
  • Throw in chopped cashews and chocolate chips and combine well.
  • Pour this into the prepared pan and bake it for 35-40 mins.
  • Let it cool completely before flipping over.
  • Cut into squares and serve with a cup of milk.
