Ingredients

large Raw Mango chopped
▢

tsp
Turmeric Powder / Manjal podi
▢
Salt to taste
▢

tbsp
Sugar
▢
For Grinding:
▢

Coconut
▢

tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
▢

tsp
or 2 Chilli Powder or Dry Red Chilli

For Tempering:

Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
Instructions
▢
Take all your ingredients in a blender and make into a slightly coarse puree.
▢
Take mangoes, salt, sugar and turmeric powder in a kadai.
▢
Cover with water and cook for 15 mins till the mangoes are half done.
▢
Now add in the coconut masala and add some water and cook for 10 more mins till the mangoes are completely cooked.
▢
Now make the seasoning, by heating oil and add in mustard seeds. Let this crackle for a min.
▢
Pour this over the avial and mix well.
▢
Serve with rice and any gravy.
