Ingredients

  • Mint Leaves - 2 cups packed Mom added some coriander leaves too
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar - 1 tsp

For Roasting & Grinding:

  • Toor Dal / Tuvaram paruppu- 1 tblspn
  • Urad dal / Ulundam paruppu - 1 tblspn
  • Dry Red Chilli - 2
  • Coconut - ½ cup
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Tamarind - 1 small piece

Instructions

  • Take all the roasting ingredients except tamarind and roast them in a dry pan for 3 to 4 mins.
  • Now add in mint leaves and saute them till they are wilted.
  • Add in tamarind and mix them well.
  • Add in salt and sugar and toss well.
  • Take this in a blender and add very little water to make into a thick chutney.
  • Serve with rice, dosa or idli.
