Bombay Chutney Recipe | How to Make Besan Chutney
Simple besan chutney or Bombay chutney made using gram flour, spices and fresh onions and tomatoes which makes it taste amazing with idli or dosa.

- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 tspo Mustard Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Split Urad dal
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 medium Onion chopped finely
- 1 medium Tomato chopped finely
- 2 no Green Chillies chopped finely
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 3 tablespoon Chickpea Flour (Besan | Gram Flour)
- 1 cup Water as needed
- ¼ teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 3 tablespoon Coriander Leaves chopped finely
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and urad dal and let them sizzle. Add in curry leaves and let them sizzle.
Add in onions, chilli and tomatoes. Cook that for couple of mins. Now add in turmeric and salt and mix well.
Add in gram flour and toast for 2 mins on a low heat.
Now add in water and mix well. Bring this to a boil and simmer for few more mins. Now add in salt, sugar, lemon juice and coriander leaves.
Serve this with idli or dosa.
