Homemade butter cookies are a classic standard because of their mild sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth texture. These cookies are a great option for any occasion because of their slightly crisp surface and soft, buttery middle. These cookies are always a hit, whether you're looking for a light snack or something to go with your tea or coffee. Anytime you have a craving, you can quickly make a new batch with only a few simple ingredients!
Take flour, baking soda and baking powder in a bowl and mix them well. Set this aside till use.
Now in another mixing bowl. Take butter and powdered sugar. Cream this well so it turns fluffy. Now add in the flour mixture and mix well so it forms a soft dough.
Now pinch small portions from it and shape them into balls. Arrange this in a foil lined baking sheet. Press them little with your fingers. Use a fork to make some impression on them.
Now pop them in a preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 mins. Remove them and let them cool slightly. Now remove them to cooling rack and let them cool completely.
Store them in an air tight container and serve with milk.

Use room temperature butter – It gives cookies a perfect texture and mixes better with sugar.Measure flour correctly – The cookies may get dry if you use too much flour, so always level off the measuring cup.Don’t over bake – As they cool, they get firmer, even though they may appear soft at first.
