cooked Kala Chana / Chana

Basmati Rice

and ½ cup of cooking liquid from kala chana Water
Instructions
▢
Soak chana overnight, drain water add it to a pressure cooker, cover with fresh water.
▢
Add little salt and pressure cook this for 15 to 20 whistle till chana gets soft.
▢
Drain it and reserve the chana cooking liquid as well.
▢
Soak Basmati rice for 30 mins.
▢
Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add in the whole spices and saute for a min.
▢
Add in onions and green chillies. Saute till golden.
▢
Now add in ginger garlic paste and salt. Mix well.
▢
Add in tomatoes and mix well with the onions.
▢
Then add in cooked chana and mix well. Add in the drained rice and toss well.
▢
Now add in ½ cup of chana cooking liquid and water. Cover and pressure cook for 1 whistle, simmer the pan for 5 to 8 mins.
▢
Turn off the heat and let the steam escape all by itself. Open the cooker and fluff the rice.
▢
Serve.
