Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Whole Urad Dal
  • ½ cup Raw Rice / Pacharisi
  • Salt to taste

For Tempering

  • 1 tablespoon Oil + for deep frying
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1 medium Onion chopped finely
  • 2 no Green Chillies chopped finely
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger chopped finely
  • a sprig Curry leaves

Instructions
 

  • Soak Whole urad dal and rice in a bowl, soak it for 2 hours. Drain it and take it in a blender, make it into a fine puree. Pour this into a bowl, add in salt and mix well.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard and allow it to crackle. Add in onions, chillies, curry leaves, ginger and saute for a min. Pour this into the batter and mix well.
  • Heat oil for deep frying. Drop spoonful of batter in hot oil and fry till golden. Strain and serve with chutney.
