Chocolate jelly is a rich, creamy and super chocolatey dessert that is made with few simple ingredients like cocoa, sugar, milk, agar agar and chocolate. And this dessert is completely eggless and uses a plant based setting agent like agar agar to make a jelly like texture.
Break china grass or agar agar in a saucepan, add in ½ cup water and mix well with your hands. Set aside and soak for 15 mins till you get ready with other stuffs.
Take ¼ cup of milk in a bowl, add in cocoa and mix well till there is no lumps. Set aside.
Take 2 cups of milk and sugar in a saucepan, Heat till the milk comes to a boil. Now add in cocoa mix, chocolate chips and heat till the chocolate is melted. Add in vanilla and mix well.
Now take the soaked china grass mixture. Heat it on low heat till it the china grass has melted completely.
Pour this melted china grass mix into the chocolate milk mixture and heat it on low until it comes to a simmering stage. Take it off the heat.
Grease a square pan with little oil and pour the chocolate mix in to the pan and let this cool for couple of hours. Pop this in fridge and set it for 4 to 6 hours or overnight.
To Unmould it, run a butter knife around the pan and gently flip the pan to a serving plate and cut into squares. Serve.
