Pressure Cooker Cake with step by step pictures. Learn how to make a basic vanilla cake in pressure cooker. This eggless cake is made with Flour, Milk and Chocolate Chips in a pressure cooker hence it is called as cooker cake.
Place a pressure cooker on stove, place a separator on the bottom of cooker and heat it on high heat. Dont use gasket on the lid, cover it. Heat it for 10 mins or so. Dont use whislte.
Brush a baking tin with oil and dust it with flour. Tap off the excess and set aside till use.
Now make the batter. Take all the ingredients given in the list except chocolate chips in a mixing bowl. Use a electric beater to mix the batter untill it is smooth.
Pour this batter into the tin, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top.
Use a pot holder and place the cake tin carefully into the center of pressure cooker.
Cover it and simmer the heat. Cook on a low heat for 45 to 50 mins.
When it is done. Open the pressure cooker and use a tooth pick to check whether the cake is done. If the tooth pick comes out clean then the cake is done.
Remove it from the cooker carefully and cool it down completely.
Invert the cake pan on a place, slice and serve.
Notes
You can bake every cake in cooker. But i recommend you not to choose very complicated ones.
Dont use Nonstick cooker for this. Since dry heating non stick is not prefered. Use plain aluminium cooker.
Dont use gasket for baking cake. If you gasket, the dry heating will cause smell and damage it.
Never use whistle in the cooker. Remove it.
Dont add water inside the cooker before baking.
Place a separator between cooker and cake pan. The cake pan should never touch the bottom of the cooker.
Always check a pressure cooker cake often to ensure over baking cake or burning.
Always use a cake pan which fits comfortably into the pressure cooker.
Preheat the pressure cooker for a good 10 mins on high heat before putting the cake pan in.
Use a pot holder to put the cake pan inside the cooker, since the cooker can be too hot.
After you place the cake pan inside the cooker, reduce the flame to the lowest, cover it and cook.
Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the cake pan and the cake batter.
