Drumstick leaves soup also known as murungai keerai soup is a traditional South Indian soup. This soup is so light, warm and healthy, that it perfectly suits people of all ages. Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add in cumin seeds and let it sizzle. Add in garlic, ginger and saute for a minute.
Add in shallots and saute for 2 mins or so. Add in tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy. Add in drumstick leaves and saute for 4 to 5 mins.
Pour in water and cook for 5 mins. Season with salt and pepper. You can puree this using a hand blender before serving, or enjoy as it is too. Serve hot.
