    Drumstick Leaves Soup Recipe(Murungai keerai soup)

    If you are looking for soups which are really healthy, then this is the one. This soup is packed with iron. So good for you. Plus it is easy to make and tasty too.

    Ingredients for Drumstick Leaves Soup (Murungai keerai soup)

    • Oil / Ghee - 1 tsp
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp
    • Garlic - 5 fat cloves sliced thinly
    • Ginger - 1 tbsp grated
    • Shallots / Sambar Onion / Chinna Ulli - 4 chopped finely
    • Tomatoes - 1 large chopped finely
    • Drumstick Leaves - 4 cups packed
    • Water - 6 cups
    • Salt to taste
    • Pepper to taste

    How to make Drumstick Leaves Soup (Murungai keerai soup)

    1. Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add in cumin seeds and let it sizzle.
    2. Add in garlic, ginger and saute for a min.
    3. Add in shallots and saute for 2 mins or so.
    4. Add in tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
    5. Add in drumstick leaves and saute for 4 to 5 mins.
    6. Add in water and cook for 5 mins. Season with salt and pepper.
    7. Serve hot.

    Drumstick Leaves Soup Recipe step by step picture 

     
    Take all your ingredients
    Wash your drumstick leaves
    heat oil in a pan
    add in some cumin seeds
    in goes garlic and a lots of it
    add in some grated ginger
    Saute for a min
    Add in some shallots / sambar onion
    Saute till it is translucent
    Add in tomatoes
    Saute till it turns mushy
    Add in drumstick leaves
    saute well
    pour in water
    mix well and cook for 10 mins..
    add in salt and pepper
    mix well
    Serve
