- Oil / Ghee - 1 tsp
- Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp
- Garlic - 5 fat cloves sliced thinly
- Ginger - 1 tbsp grated
- Shallots / Sambar Onion / Chinna Ulli - 4 chopped finely
- Tomatoes - 1 large chopped finely
- Drumstick Leaves - 4 cups packed
- Water - 6 cups
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste

How to make Drumstick Leaves Soup (Murungai keerai soup)
- Heat oil in a sauce pan. Add in cumin seeds and let it sizzle.
- Add in garlic, ginger and saute for a min.
- Add in shallots and saute for 2 mins or so.
- Add in tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy.
- Add in drumstick leaves and saute for 4 to 5 mins.
- Add in water and cook for 5 mins. Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot.
