Tea Biscuits are simple and buttery cookies made with unsalted butter, flour, sugar and baking powder. This cookie is also known as fork biscuits named after its classic marks pressed on top using a fork, which helps to flatten the dough. These cookies are soft, buttery and crispy, making a perfect choice for evening snack, kids school snacks, parties or for gifting.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 180 degree C (360 degree F). Line a baking pan with parchment paper and set aside. Take plain flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
Take soft butter, sugar in a bowl and whisk till creamy, it will take around 5 minutes. You can mix this using a hand whisk or electric beater.
Add in the flour, baking powder and salt mixture and make it into a soft dough. If your dough looks dry, add a spoon of milk and bring the dough together.
Now use a small ice cream scoop to portion out the dough or you can use a tablespoon measuring spoon. Take small portion of dough and roll it into a ball. Arrange it in a baking tray leaving some space between them.
Use a fork to make a indent on the cookie. Place it into the preheated oven and bake. Bake the cookies for 15 to 16 mins.
Remove the tray from oven and allow to cool for 2 minutes in the tray. Then remove the cookies to a wire cooling rack and cool completely. Store in an air tight jar.
Serve with tea, coffee or milk.
Notes
The original recipe uses self rising flour. If you have self rising flour, then skip baking powder and salt. Use 150 grams of self rising flour.
Don't over bake the cookies, else it will get hard.
The biscuits will stay good for 3 to 4 days in an air tight container.
