Fried momos is a crispy twist to the classic steamed momos. It has the perfect mix of crispy outer layer and a flavourful vegetable filling inside, which make them absolutely delicious.
Make dough. Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Pour in water and make into a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes to 1 hour
Make filling - Heat oil in a skillet. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for 30 seconds. Now add in sprig onions and vegetables, sprinkle salt, sugar and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Now cook covered on low heat for 5 to 6 minutes. Season with soy sauce, msg and black pepper powder and mix well. Remove the filling to a bowl and allow this to cool down.
Shaping - Now take the dough and divide into equal portions. Take one dough ball and roll into thin round shape.
Spoon some filling on one side of the circle. Brush side with some water and fold in half. Pinch the sides and fold it in a pattern(Check images)
Frying - Heat oil for deep frying and deep fry this dumplings till golden. Drain onto a paper towel.
Serve hot with ketchup or hot chilli sauce.
