Ingredients
  

For Ginger Syrup

  • 1 cup Fresh Ginger peeled, grated & packed measured
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup Sugar

For Making Ginger Ale (Makes one serving)

  • 6 no Ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon Juice or to taste
  • 1 piece Lemon Slices optional
  • 4 tablespoon Ginger Syrup
  • 1 cup Soda Water or Cold Water

Instructions
 

  • Wash and peel ginger. Grate it using a coarse grater. You will need1 cup of packed grated ginger
  • Take this in a sauce pan. Add in 2 cups of water. Bring this to a boil. Simmer for mins. Switch off the flame and let it sit for 30 mins. Now strain this using a fine strainer.
  • Pour this back into the sauce pan. Add in sugar and bring it to boil. Mix well so the sugar is dissolved. Now the ginger syrup is done. Allow this to cool down and store in a clean dry bottle. Keep refrigerated.
  • Now make ginger ale. Take a glass and add some icecubes in the bottom. Squeeze in some lemon juice and throw in couple of lemon slices. Pour some ginger syrup. Fill with soda water, mix well. Serve cold.

Notes

    • Always use fresh ginger for the best flavor. The older the ginger, the more fibrous it becomes and the less juicy it will be.
    • For a stronger ginger punch, let the syrup steep for an hour before straining.
    • If you like a smoother drink, blend the ginger syrup before straining.
