Ingredients

  • 1 cup Millet Samai, Varagu,Thinai or Kuthiraivali
  • 3 cups Water
  • Salt optional

Instructions

  • Measure your millets..Wash them well..I soak them for 5 mins in water, so any dirt will come on top, then i drain them and wash them well with lots of water.
  • Take millets in a heavy bottom pan, cover with water. If you want add little salt.
  • Bring it to a boil. Cover and simmer on the lowest flame for 15 mins.
  • Now if you see the water must be absorbed by the millets. Fluff the millets gently with fork. Cover with lid and set aside for 10 mins.
  • Now the millets must be fluffy.
  • Serve.

Notes

For making variety rice and fried rice. Use 1.5 cup to 2 cups of water.
