- 1 cup Broken matta rice
- ¼ cup Yellow Moong dal / Pasi paruppu
- 5 cups Water
- ½ cup Coconut
- Salt to taste
- Curry leaves a handful
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil or Ghee
- 1 cup Onion or Shallots chopped finely

Wash matta rice atleast 2 to 3 times. Drain and set aside.
Take moong dal in a pressure cooker and roast for a min.
Add in rice and water. Cook for 4 whistle.
Add more water if needed.
Add coconut and salt and mix well.
Heat ghee in a pan. Add in onions and curry leaves and fry till golden.
Pour over porridge.
Mix well and serve.
