Potato Mochai Curry Recipe with step by step pictures. Simple South Indian side dish made with potatoes, fresh mochai, coconut masala makes perfect side dish for rice. The cooking method is very easy and you can prepare it within 30 minutes.
Take potatoes and mochai in a pressure cooker, add little water and salt. Pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer for 5 mins. Turn off the heat and let them steam escape all by itself. Open the cooker and check whether the potatoes and mochai is cooked.
Grind coconut, cumin, garlic, dry red chillies and turmeric in a blender and make it into a slightly coarse puree. Set aside.
Heat coconut oil in a kadai. Add in mustard, dry red chilli, curry leaves and let them sizzle. Add in cooked potatoes and mochai along with the coconut masala and salt. Mix well and Cook till everything gets dry.
Serve with rice.
