Take water and nilavembu powder in a sauce pan. Place it on heat and bring it to a full boil. Once it starts boiling, simmer the pan until the water is reduced by half.
Once it has reduced by half. Take it off the heat and cover with a lid and let it sit for 30 minutes.
Now strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer and add jaggery or honey to taste. Mix well until it is melted.
Serve.
Notes
Adults: 30 to 60 ml of the prepared decoction twice a day
Children (5–12 years): 7.5 to 15 ml twice a day (check with a Siddha physician for exact age-based adjustments)
Timing: Best taken on an empty stomach or after food as directed. You can add honey or palm jaggery if it is too bitter.
