Simple Onion Curry Recipe which has simple spices and masalas. Onion curry also known as onion sabzi or pyaz sabzi made South Indian style with onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, coconut paste comes together in just 20 minutes. Enjoy this onion curry pairs well with rice or roti.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoon Groundnut Oil
  • 3 large Onions peeled & sliced thinly
  • 5 no Green Chillies slit
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 large Tomato chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

For Grinding

  • ½ cup Fresh Coconut grated
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds

Instructions
 

  • Grind coconut and fennel seeds to a smooth paste. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in onions, green chillies, salt, turmeric and ginger garlic paste. Saute this for 2 to 3 minutes. Cover and cook on low mediumh heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Now the onions would have become sweet and soft. Add in tomatoes and cook till soft.
  • Add in coconut masala and mix well. Cook on low for 2 minutes. Turn off heat and Serve with roti or rice.
