Orange jelly is a simple and refreshing homemade summer treat that is made with just a few ingredients like fresh orange juice, sugar, water and gelatin. The fresh orange flavour really stands out when served in orange peel and it makes the dessert extra pretty and fun. This orange jelly can be enjoyed on its own or can be used as a topping for pudding, custard or cakes.
Prepare Orange Cups - Wash oranges well and cut them in half. Squeeze out the juice from them using a lemon squeezer, take care not to puncher the orange shell. Remove the membrane from the orange shell using a spoon. Now arrange the orange shells in a cupcake mould. Set aside.
Blooming Gelatin - Take gelatin in a bowl and add in water. Mix well and set aside to soak for atleast 15 minutes.
Melting Gelatin - Take the bloomed gelatin mix in a sauce pan, heat on low heat and mix till the gelatin is melted. Set aside.
Make Orange Jelly Mix - Now strain the orange juice into a jug. Add in sugar, gelatin mix, orange extract, food colour. Mix well. The gelatin and sugar should completely melt.
Setting Orange Jelly - Take your orange shells. Fill the orange shells with this orange juice mixture. Place it in fridge and let it Chill it in fridge for 2 to 4 hours.
Serving - Remove it from fridge, and un mould from the case. Slice them in half. Serve.
