Ghee - 2 tblsp
▢
Cardamom / Yelakai - 2
▢
Cloves
/ Krambu - 2
▢
Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 small stick
▢
Onion - 1 chopped finely
▢
Tomato - 1 chopped finely
▢
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tblsp
▢
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
▢
Cumin powder - 1 tsp
▢
Coriander powder - 1 tblsp
▢
Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
▢
Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
▢
Salt to taste

Palak - 2 cups chopped finely
▢
Coconut Milk - 1 cup
▢
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
▢
Water - 1 cup
Instructions
▢
Wash and soak rice for 15 mins.
▢
Heat ghee in a cooker. Add whole spices and mix well.
▢
Add onions and cook till golden.
▢
Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
▢
Add in tomatoes and cook till mushy.
▢
Add in spice powders and palak.Saute well.
▢
Add salt to taste
▢
Add in water, coconut milk and rice.
▢
Bring it to a boil.
▢
Cover and cook for 1 whistle.
▢
Let the steam escape and open the cooker. Fluff up the rice.
▢
Serve with raita.
