Take jaggery and water in a heavy bottom pan and heat till jaggery melts, Strain this and take it back in the same pan,
Now add in cardamom powder and bring it to a boil. now cook till it gets hard ball stage.
When you take some syrup and pour it in a bowl of cold water, you should be able to gather the syrup into a ball and it gets hard ball and make a "donk" sound when you drop in a steel plate.
Now take it off the heat and add the gram dal and mix well.
Now grease your hands with ghee and take small portion and shape it into a ball.
Set aside to cool. Now store it in a air tight container.
