Prawn Toast Recipe (Sesame Prawn Toast)

Prawn sesame toast is a delicious crispy bread stuffed with minced prawns, spices, sesame seeds and then fried in oil till golden brown. Prawn sesame toast is a traditional Chinese dim sum dish. The bread is spread with a super flavourful prawn paste that is sweet, spicy and covered with sesame seeds, and deep fried in oil for the ultimate crisp texture and taste. These can be prepared in less than 20 minutes.
Prawn toast can be air fried, baked or deep fried based on your health diet. This crispy prawn toast can be served as an evening snack or as a party appetizer

Ingredients

  • 6 slices White Bread
  • ½ cup White Sesame Seeds
  • Oil For Deep Frying

For Blending

  • 1 tablespoon Ginger peeled & chopped finely
  • 5 cloves Garlic peeled & chopped finely
  • 1 no Green Chilli chopped finely
  • ½ medium Onion peeled & chopped finely
  • 4 tablespoon Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 large Egg White
  • 200 grams Prawns

For Serving

  • ½ cup Sweet Chilli Sauce

Instructions

  • Take onions, ginger, garlic, coriander leaves, green chillies in a blender and coarsely crush them. Now add in prawns, red chilli powder, salt, black pepper powder, soy sauce, egg white in the blender and blend them until paste like.
  • Take bread slices, remove crush off the bread. Spread the prawn toast on the bread slices evenly.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on a plate in a single layer. take the bread slices and dip them in sesame seeds so the seeds coat the prawn toast in a single layer. Repeat with remaining bread slices.
  • Heat oil for deep frying. Once oil is hot, drop prawn toast in hot oil, placing sesame coated side in hot oil and fry for 2 minutes until sesame seeds gets golden brown in colour. Now flip over and cook until the bread is golden brown. Strain and set aside onto some paper towel.
  • Cut into triangles and serve with sweet chilli sauce.
