Ingredients
  

  • Snake Gourd / Pudalangai - 1chopped finely around 3 cups
  • Onion - 1 small chopped finely
  • Sambar Powder - 1 tblspn or to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • For Seasoning:
  • Oil - 2 tblspn
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli - 1
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a kadai. Add in all the seasoning ingredients and let it crackle for a min.
  • Add in onions and saute for a min till it turns translucent.
  • Add in chopped snake gourd and saute for a couple of mins.
  • Add in salt and sambar powder and saute well.
  • Pour in a splash of water and cover the pan. Cook this for 5 -10 mins till the snake gourd is cooked.
  • Now remove the lid and saute the poriyal on high heat for 5 mins.
  • Serve with rice and any curry of your choice.
