Vegetable momos are nothing but popular steamed dumplings also known as momos, veg momos. The flour dough is rolled into a thin wrapper and stuffed with a mix of vegetables and flavourful seasonings like soy sauce, garlic and spices. Serve it hot along with a spicy garlic chilli chutney or with tomato ketchup for a soul satisfying meal.
Start by making dough, mix flour, baking powder, salt and water to a smooth dough. Once dough is formed, cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Now make the filling, heat oil in a pan. Add in garlic, chillies, spring onion white and saute for a minute. Add in all the vegetables and saute until it is wilted. Add in soy sauce, salt, sugar, black pepper powder and mix well. Finally add in spring onion greens and mix. Momos filling is ready. Set aside to cool.
Divide the dough into equal portions. Now take a small portion of dough, roll it thin, Spoon some filling in the centre of the dough. Apply some water on the sides and seal the edges to shape it like a momos.
Grease a steamer plate with some oil. Now arrange it in a greased steamer plate and place it over a pan of boiling water. steam for 8 to 10 mins. Serve with spicy chilli chutney.
