Ingredients

For Cinnamon Roll Dough

  • cups All Purpose Flour (Plain Flour) 300 grams
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter (melted) 60 ml
  • 1 cup Milk (luke warm) 240 ml
  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar 50 grams
  • teaspoon Dry Yeast
  • 1 large Egg

For Cinnamon Topping

  • 100 grams Unsalted Butter (Soft)
  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar 100 grams
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ cup Seedless Black Raisins optional

For Glaze

Instructions

  • Start by mixing plain flour and salt in a bowl until salt is evenly mixed into the flour. Set aside.
  • Now lets mix wet ingredients. Take a large mixing bowl. Add in melted butter, warm milk and sugar. Mix well until sugar melts completely. Sprinkle over yeast and egg and mix well. Set aside for 5 minutes for the yeast to activate and get foamy. This is your wet ingredients.
  • Now add in the flour and salt which we mixed earlier. Knead this to a soft dough. Knead for 3 to 4 minutes until it is smooth and soft.
  • Now cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rise on a warm spot for 1 hour or till it is doubled in size.
  • Now make the cinnamon sugar. Mix sugar and cinnamon till it is mixed. Grease a 19 cm round baking pan generously with butter and set aside.
  • Once the dough is risen. Take the dough on a floured sprinkle work surface, Roll it out into a long rectangle.
  • Now take the softened butter and spread over the rolled dough. Sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar and raisins in an even layer.
  • Start rolling from one end. Roll it into a thick log. Seal the edges. Now use a sharp knife or thread to cut them into 12 equal slices.
  • Arrange it in a buttered tray. Cover again and let it rise for 45 minutes to 1 hour till it is doubled in size. While the rolls is rising, preheat oven to 180 degree C (360 degree F) during the last 15 minutes of the proofing time.
  • Now after the rolls are risen, Place the pan into the preheated oven and Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown on top. Once baked, remove from oven and set aside for a moment while you make the icing.
  • For making icing. Take icing sugar and milk in a bowl and mix well so it forms into a thick yet smooth icing.
  • Now Drizzle the icing all over the warm cinnamon rolls. The icing will slightly melt into the rolls.
  • Once the rolls are cooled slightly, remove from pan and serve with a cup of coffee or tea.
