Guacamole Recipe, a popular Mexican dip or spread that is made with avocado, onions, tomatoes, chilli pepper, garlic and lemon juice. Creamy Avocado dip is best served with tortilla chips or corn tortilla chips. In this blog post, learn how to make authentic way of making guacamole in a molcajete with step by step pictures and video.
In a mortar and pestle, add in garlic, coriander stalk, salt, green chilli pepper and crush them into a fine puree. Now add in 3 tablespoon chopped onions, 1 teaspoon lemon juice and crush again till slightly crushed.
Cut open a ripe avocado, scoop half of the flesh into the mortar and pestle and crush them into a coarse mixture. Now cut the remaining half of avocado into small pieces and fold into the prepared avocado mixture and mix well.
Now add in onions, tomato, coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well. Serve with chips or tortilla.

Make sure to add garlic, it adds a mild garlic aroma to the dip. Use just one clove of garlic, don't add too much garlic which may over power the dip.
I add a bit of coriander stalks along with garlic when mudlling, which blends into the guacamole while making it more fresh.
Make sure to add some finely cubed avocado in the end which adds contrast texture.
Always taste and adjust lemon juice to your taste.
Be generous with the cilantro leaves for fresh taste.
Storage & Serving
You can make avocado and store it in an air tight container in fridge upto 3 to 4 days. Enjoy guacamole with tortilla chips.
